World Sustainable Travel & Hospitality Awards

We have been nominated as a finalist for the Wolfgang Neumann Sustainability Leader of Tomorrow Award 2025

Led by David Even, Primal Slippers is transforming the guest experience through circular design, regenerative materials, and hyper-local production—setting a new standard for low-impact hospitality amenities. Each pair is crafted from carbon-negative cork harvested in Portugal’s Montado region and upcycled footwear waste, resulting in modular slippers that are fully repairable, reusable, and recyclable. Sourced entirely within Portugal, the slippers’ lifecycle emissions are just one-sixth of the industry average, as confirmed by EY’s Life Cycle Assessment. A closed-loop take-back program ensures worn pairs are turned into new soles, with end-of-life management conducted under the EU’s Green List Waste regulations for full transparency and accountability.

Primal Slippers partners with Hunter Amenities, Groupe GM, and NGOs such as InTent for Change to align circularity goals with hotel procurement. More than a sustainable product, it’s a movement—offering hotels and distributors a replicable model for integrating responsible, zero-waste solutions into guest experiences and driving systemic change across the industry.
